The Office of Delegate Marlon Amprey will start collecting scholarship applications for The 2025 Annual Legislative Scholarship of the Office of Delegate Marlon Amprey on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. Please review the information and steps below on how to submit a scholarship application to our office.

PLEASE NOTE: We collect scholarship applications through a joint scholarship application form with the Offices of Delegate Conaway and Delegate Wells for the 2025 Session. However, awarding is decided separately between our offices.

Funding for the House of Delegates Legislative Scholarships is made available through the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) and is distributed by the Delegate(s) in each District. High School Seniors, undergraduate students, graduate students, and vocational/trade students residing in the 40th District and only in the 40th District are all welcome to apply for The 2025 Annual Legislative Scholarship of the Office of Delegate Marlon Amprey.

Deadline

The application deadline for The 2025 Annual Legislative Scholarship of the Office of Delegate Marlon Amprey is on Friday, May 2, 2025 at 11:59 PM.

Eligibility Information

Applicants must be a resident of the 40th District and ONLY the 40th District, and either of the following:

  • Current high school senior

  • Current or prospective full-time degree-seeking undergraduate/graduate student at an accredited Maryland educational institution

  • Current or prospective part-time degree-seeking undergraduate/graduate student at an accredited Maryland educational institution

  • Current or prospective vocational/trade school student

This scholarship cannot be used at an out-of-state school unless your major is not offered at a school in Maryland and is therefore considered “Unique.” Contact the MHEC Office of Legislative Affairs on the MHEC website if you need to verify that you are taking a “Unique” major.

How to Apply

Step 1: File a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Step 2: Make sure your Maryland College Aid Processing System (MDCAPS) student profile is up to date. If you do not have a student profile, visit the MHEC - MDCAPS website for instructions on creating one.

Step 3: Indicate which accredited Maryland educational institution you will attend and the degree/certification you plan to pursue in your MDCAPS student profile.

Step 4: Fill out the scholarship application form via this link (https://forms.gle/dYSmLJejaJ1bFuKr9).

PLEASE NOTE: Be sure to submit all required documents and thoroughly follow the directions on the scholarship application form. Failure to do so may result in your scholarship application not being processed.
